Your members buy in their own language
The bot answers them, the checkout charges them, and the receipt thanks them in the language their Discord or browser is set to. You pick the default once; we follow each member from there.
Three in four online buyers prefer to buy with information in their own language, and four in ten will not buy from a page in another language at all (CSA Research, Can't Read, Won't Buy, 2020). Most checkouts still ignore this: Stripe found 74% of European checkouts untranslated in 2022.
Arcalotl sets one default language per community and then follows each member. Announcements and the pinned subscribe view use the community default. Replies to a member, their checkout, and their receipt use the language their client reports, when you let it.
Bot replies
Ephemeral replies and DMs arrive in the language the member's Discord or Telegram client is set to. Slash-command descriptions are localized too, so the command picker reads right before the first tap.
Checkout
Our labels, Stripe's payment form, and the receipt use the same language. Which payment methods appear is a separate question: that follows the plan's currency, the member's country, and what you have turned on in your own Stripe account.
Storefront and portal
A picker in the footer lets a member switch. A signed-in member's choice is saved and drives every email we send them afterwards.
Your content stays yours
Plan names, tier descriptions, storefront text and welcome messages are shown exactly as you wrote them. Only Arcalotl's own copy is translated.
What is on today, and what is off by default
Languages today: English, Svenska, Francais, Deutsch, Espanol and Portugues (Brazilian).
Defaults are English and off: an existing community never changes language until you set one in Settings, and following each member's language is a switch you turn on.
