Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Arcalotl platform, including our website, Discord bot, Stoat bot, web dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

"You" refers to the individual or entity operating a community server that uses Arcalotl. "Members" refers to users in your community who subscribe to plans you create through Arcalotl.

The Service

Arcalotl provides subscription management, payment processing (via Stripe Connect), and revenue retention tools for community platforms including Discord and Stoat. Specifically, the Service enables you to:

• Create subscription plans mapped to platform roles
• Accept payments from your community members via Stripe
• Automatically manage role access based on subscription status
• Recover failed payments through automated dunning sequences
• Intercept cancellations with dynamic save offers
• Optimize subscription terms through upgrade prompts
• View revenue analytics and subscriber metrics

Accounts and access

To use the Service, you must connect a community platform account (Discord or Stoat) and a Stripe account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your accounts and for all activity that occurs under them.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Payments and fees

Stripe Connect. All payment processing is handled through Stripe Connect using the Direct Charges model. Payments from your members flow directly to your connected Stripe account. Arcalotl does not hold, escrow, or intermediate funds.

Platform fees. Arcalotl charges the following fees, collected as Stripe application fees on each transaction:

• Transaction fee: 2% of every successful subscription payment
• Recovery fee: 5% of revenue recovered through dunning sequences or saved through cancellation intercepts

No monthly fees. There is no monthly subscription fee, setup fee, or minimum commitment to use Arcalotl.

Stripe fees. Standard Stripe processing fees (currently 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) are charged separately by Stripe and are your responsibility. These are not Arcalotl fees.

Fee changes.We may adjust our fee percentages with 30 days' written notice. Fee changes will not apply retroactively to existing transactions.

Your responsibilities

• Legal compliance. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations related to your use of the Service, including tax obligations, consumer protection laws, and platform terms of service.
• Accurate information. You must provide accurate information when configuring plans and communicating with your members through the Service.
• Member disputes. You are responsible for resolving disputes with your members regarding subscriptions, access, refunds, and chargebacks. Arcalotl is a tool provider, not a party to the transaction between you and your members.
• Prohibited content.You may not use the Service to sell access to content or communities that violate applicable law, platform terms of service, or Stripe's acceptable use policy.

Retention features

Arcalotl's dunning sequences, cancellation save offers, and term optimization prompts communicate with your members on your behalf. By using these features, you authorize Arcalotl to send direct messages and create temporary channels in your community server for the purpose of subscription management and revenue recovery.

You can configure or disable individual retention features at any time through the dashboard or bot commands.

Data and ownership

Your data. You retain ownership of your subscription data, member information, and revenue metrics. We process this data on your behalf to operate the Service.

Stripe relationship. Your Stripe account is yours. If you stop using Arcalotl, your Stripe account, payment data, and customer relationships remain with you.

Our data. Aggregated, anonymized data about Service usage (not your specific subscriber data) may be used by us to improve the Service.

Service availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service depends on third-party platforms (Discord, Stoat, Stripe) and their availability. We are not responsible for downtime caused by these platforms.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service with reasonable notice. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before discontinuing core functionality.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcalotl's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the total fees you paid to Arcalotl in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Arcalotl is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost revenue, lost profits, or lost subscribers, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the Arcalotl bot from your server and disconnecting your Stripe account.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in activity that harms the Service or other users, or fail to pay applicable fees. We will provide notice before termination except in cases of severe or repeated violations.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and, where practical, through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, your remedy is to stop using the Service.
