Subscriber Checkout Terms
Last updated: June 25, 2026
Agreement
Short version. These terms cover your use of Arcalotl checkout and billing tools. The community operator, not Arcalotl, sells and provides the membership, donation path, purchase, perks, and access.
These Subscriber Checkout Terms ("Subscriber Terms") apply when you use an Arcalotl checkout page, payment return page, billing link, access automation, or member-facing subscription flow. By using those flows, you agree to these Subscriber Terms.
If you operate a community using Arcalotl, the Operator Terms apply to you. The Privacy Policy explains how Arcalotl handles personal information.
Arcalotl's role
Short version. Arcalotl is a software connector. We do not hold your payment, and we are not the merchant of record.
Arcalotl provides software that connects subscribers, community operators, Stripe, and supported community platforms. Arcalotl helps start checkout, receive payment status from Stripe, update access state, send operational subscription messages, and link you to Stripe Billing Portal where available.
The operator of the community is the seller and provider of the membership, subscription, one-time access, donation path, perk, role, content, or community benefit. Arcalotl is not the merchant of record for your purchase, does not sell the membership to you, and does not hold, escrow, or intermediate your funds.
The operator relationship
Short version. Your purchase is from the community operator. Their terms, community rules, refund policy, and support process apply to the underlying offer.
The operator is responsible for plan descriptions, pricing, renewal terms, refund terms, taxes, perks, role access, community moderation, support, and fulfillment. Arcalotl may display information supplied by the operator, but the operator is responsible for that information and for delivering the promised access or benefit.
Review the operator's checkout page, plan description, renewal terms, refund terms, community rules, and support process before you pay. If something is unclear, contact the operator before completing checkout.
Stripe payments
Short version. Stripe processes your payment through the operator's connected Stripe account. Arcalotl may receive an application fee from the operator's transaction.
Payments are processed by Stripe using Stripe Connect direct charges. Your payment is made to the operator's connected Stripe account. Stripe may collect and process payment details, billing details, payment method information, fraud signals, and authentication data under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
Arcalotl may receive a platform application fee from the transaction. That fee is paid through Stripe as part of the operator's use of Arcalotl. It does not make Arcalotl the seller or provider of your community access.
Recurring subscriptions
Short version. If you subscribe, the operator charges you on the stated billing schedule until the subscription is canceled or otherwise ends.
When you subscribe to a recurring plan, you authorize the operator to charge your payment method through Stripe according to the plan terms shown at checkout and in Stripe. Renewal frequency, price, trial terms, cancellation timing, and access duration are part of the operator's offer.
Arcalotl receives subscription status from Stripe and uses that status to update access automation. If a payment fails, Arcalotl may help the operator send payment recovery messages, retry links, or Billing Portal links.
One-time purchases and donations
Short version. One-time purchases and donations are charged once unless the operator clearly offers something recurring.
If you make a one-time purchase or donation, you authorize a single charge through Stripe for the amount shown at checkout. Access, duration, benefits, refund terms, tax treatment, and support are the operator's responsibility.
Access delivery
Short version. Arcalotl automates access, but access depends on Stripe confirmation, platform APIs, operator configuration, and community platform state.
After Stripe reports that checkout or payment succeeded, Arcalotl may grant or update the configured role, perk, or access state for the operator's community. Delivery may be delayed or fail if Stripe, the community platform, the operator's configuration, role hierarchy, permissions, or your platform account state prevents completion.
If expected access is not delivered, contact the community operator first. Arcalotl may provide technical support for checkout or automation failures.
Cancellation and Billing Portal
Short version. Use the operator's supported manage flow or Stripe Billing Portal where available. Cancellation timing and access end date depend on the operator's plan terms.
For recurring subscriptions, Arcalotl may provide links or community commands that open subscription management flows or Stripe Billing Portal. Stripe Billing Portal may let you update payment methods, manage billing details, and cancel or change eligible subscriptions. The available actions depend on the operator's Stripe settings and Arcalotl configuration.
Cancellation may end access immediately or at the end of the current billing period, depending on the operator's terms and the action taken in Stripe or Arcalotl.
Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks
Short version. Refunds and disputes are handled by the operator and Stripe. Arcalotl may update access when Stripe reports refund or dispute status.
Refund policies, refund decisions, dispute evidence, chargebacks, taxes, and consumer support are the operator's responsibility. Arcalotl does not guarantee refunds, access duration, operator response times, or dispute outcomes. If Stripe reports that a payment was refunded, disputed, reversed, or failed, Arcalotl may revoke, pause, or update access according to the operator's configuration and Stripe state.
Acceptable use
Short version. Do not abuse checkout, evade payment, attack the Service, or misuse community access.
You may not use Arcalotl checkout or member flows to commit fraud, abuse chargeback processes, bypass access controls, attack or scrape the Service, interfere with Stripe or community platform systems, impersonate others, or violate law or platform rules.
Third-party services
Short version. Stripe and community platforms have their own terms and may affect payment or access.
Stripe, Discord, and other supported platforms are third-party services. They may process your data, enforce their own terms, decline payments, restrict accounts, change APIs, or experience outages. Arcalotl is not responsible for third-party actions or outages.
Disclaimers and limits
Short version. Arcalotl provides checkout and automation software as available. We do not guarantee community quality, operator conduct, or uninterrupted access.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcalotl's member-facing checkout and automation tools are provided "as is" and "as available". Arcalotl disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arcalotl is not liable for operator conduct, community content, community moderation, plan value, fulfillment, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, lost access, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
Changes
Short version. We may update these Subscriber Terms as checkout, payment, or access features change.
We may update these Subscriber Terms from time to time. Changes apply when posted unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of Arcalotl checkout or member flows after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
