Root is built for communities that do more than chat. Its native app ecosystem (raid planners, task trackers, tournament brackets) makes it the most capable community platform for gaming guilds, esports teams, and creative collectives. But capability needs sustainability, and sustainability needs revenue.
Discord has MEE6, Whop, Upgrade.chat, and a dozen other monetization options. Root had none. Arcalotl brings the same subscription infrastructure to Root: paid roles, automated dunning, cancel saves, and term optimization. Root support is on the roadmap.
Root's integrated apps are powerful on their own. Combined with Arcalotl's monetization, they become a complete community business toolkit. Gate access to premium apps, charge for exclusive event coordination, or offer paid tiers with different levels of app access.

Native commands
Planned Root commands will let members start subscriptions from the community and complete payment through Stripe Checkout.
Role-gated access
Map subscription plans to Root roles. When a member subscribes, they get the role instantly. When they cancel or lapse, Arcalotl revokes the role. Multiple tiers in one server.
Automated revenue recovery
When a payment fails, Arcalotl sends DM sequences prompting the member to update their card. Fallback channels for closed DMs. Automatic role restoration on recovery.
Cancel save offers
When a member tries to cancel, Arcalotl collects the reason and presents a tailored offer: a discount, a pause, or a downgrade. Retain 30-40% of members who would otherwise leave.
Term optimization
Identify engaged monthly subscribers and prompt them to switch to annual billing at a discount. Lock in revenue, reduce churn, increase lifetime value.
Revenue analytics
Track MRR, subscriber count, recovery rate, save rate, and churn from the Arcalotl dashboard once Root support is available.
