Discord payment bots compared
Arcalotl, Subscord, PayBot, XOE, Whop, and LaunchPass on the things that decide the choice: what they take, where members pay, who owns the Stripe account, and what happens when a card fails. We build Arcalotl, so read the table, not the adjectives.

| Subscord | $0 to $199 by active subscribers | 0% (crypto 0.5% + network) | Hosted store page | Removed | Discord | |||||
| PayBot | $0 | 3% | Storefront, payment links, commands | Stripe retries | Discord | |||||
| XOE | $0 | 0% cards, 5% USDC | Bot checkout, Stripe or wallet | Removed | Discord | |||||
| Whop | $0 | 3% (about 5.7% all-in) | Whop storefront and marketplace | Removed | Discord, web | |||||

Every Stripe-based bot also pays Stripe's processing ($2.9% + $0.30per US card payment). "Annual offers" means the bot prompts monthly members to switch to annual; several bots can sell an annual plan without offering it.
What each one costs at three sizes
Total monthly cost including Stripe's processing, assuming an average payment of $10 (so $500 is 50 payments and 50 active subscribers). Subscord's tier follows the subscriber count.
| Bot | $500/mo | $2,000/mo | $10,000/mo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arcalotl | $40 | $158 | $790 |
| Subscord | $69 | $183 | $789 |
| PayBot | $45 | $178 | $890 |
| XOE | $30 | $118 | $590 |
| Whop | $45 | $178 | $890 |
| LaunchPass | $76 | $217 | $969 |
XOE's column is Stripe's processing alone. Whop's own processing is modelled at Stripe's rate. Discord Server Subscriptions is not a bot but would cost $50, $200, and $1,000 at these sizes before processing. Try your own numbers in the fee calculator.
Reading the table
On fees alone, XOE wins on card payments and Subscord wins above its break-even (its $39 tier equals 2% of $1,950, its $65 tier equals 2% of $3,250). Arcalotl and PayBot are percentage-only, so they cost nothing in a month with no sales and scale with revenue. LaunchPass charges $29 whether or not anyone pays.
On where members pay, there are two designs. Store-first bots (Subscord, PayBot, Whop, LaunchPass) send the member to a hosted page, which is good for cold visitors who are not in the server yet and adds a step for members who are. Server-first bots (Arcalotl, XOE) start from a command inside the server. Arcalotl also issues checkout links for posting elsewhere and publishes an optional storefront for visitors who are not in the server yet.
On what happens after, five of the six treat a failed renewal as the end of the subscription. Cards expire; banks decline; Stripe puts involuntary churn for consumer subscriptions at 6% to 12% of renewals a month. Arcalotl messages the member, keeps the role during a grace period, and retries after they update the card; PayBot keeps the role while Stripe retries the same card. A save offer at cancellation exists only in Arcalotl.
On ownership, every bot except Whop connects to your own Stripe account. That matters the day you switch: subscriptions in your Stripe account keep billing with any of these bots; subscriptions on Whop's platform do not move.
