9% monthly failure rate : subscription payment failure rates published by Stripe and other processors typically fall in the 6–12% range for consumer subscriptions, driven mostly by expired cards, declines, and insufficient funds. We use 9% as a realistic mid-point.
50% recovery rate : Arcalotl's dunning sequence retries failed charges on a schedule, sends in-app reminders, and requests updated card details through a secure flow. Industry benchmarks for well-tuned dunning sit between 40% and 70%.
Fee structure : 2% transaction fee on every successful payment, plus 5% recovery fee only on revenue Arcalotl actively saves. Standard Stripe processing fees (2.9% + 30¢) apply on top.
What this doesn't include : cancel saves, term optimization, and upgrade offers. Those features add more revenue on top of the recovered amount shown here. Real results are typically higher.
