Roadmap

What's next for Arcalotl

The summer was about launching: Fluxer went live, Stoat entered testing, and the checkout, dashboard, and onboarding got a full pass. Here is where the work goes from here, and how we are choosing what comes first.

Update, September 11: Telegram is now live. The roadmap below records our September 4 plans. See the setup guide to connect your group or channel.

Arcalotl exists to do the part of community monetization that most tools skip: what happens after the first payment. Recovering failed renewals, saving cancellations, moving loyal members to annual, and keeping roles in sync across every platform a community lives on. Every item below serves that same job on a new surface or with a new way to pay.

Three things are moving right now. In order of how far along they are: the Hytale integration is in active development, Telegram has moved up the integration queue, and we are in early conversations about giving members more ways to pay by card.

Hytale: the in-game supporter store is in active development

Hytale is the first game server platform Arcalotl supports, and it is being built differently from the chat integrations. Instead of a bot in a channel, players get a supporter store inside the game. They browse tiers, pick a plan, and enter a card once in our secure browser checkout. Every renewal after that stays in-game, and perks are granted by a lightweight server plugin the moment payment confirms.

The backend half of this is already live on our side: the plugin protocol, the operation queue the plugin dials into, and the reconciliation that keeps in-game permissions matching subscription state even after a server restart. What remains is the plugin itself and the in-game interface, which is where most of the current engineering time goes.

If you run a Hytale server, the Hytale page has a working demo of the store and an early-access list. Server owners on that list get the plugin first and help shape the tier and perk setup before the public release. Our guide on how to monetize a Hytale server covers the pricing and perk models we are designing around.

Telegram moves up the queue

Telegram was on the roadmap as a later integration. It is now next in line after Hytale, ahead of RootApp. The reason is simple: it is the platform creators ask about most, and the model is a close match for what Arcalotl already does. A paid Telegram community is a private group or channel with a member list that has to track who is currently paying.

The Telegram integration will sell access to a group or channel through the same checkout, invite the member on payment, remove them when a subscription lapses, and deliver recovery and save offers as Telegram messages. It will be managed from the same dashboard as Discord and Fluxer, and a member who is on both Discord and Telegram can hold one subscription that covers both.

Telegram has since launched. The Telegram page now links to setup instructions for groups and channels.

More ways to pay by card

Today every Arcalotl payment runs through Stripe, on the community operator's own connected Stripe account. That is a deliberate choice: the operator owns the customer relationship and the payout, and Arcalotl never holds funds. It also means card acceptance is only as broad as Stripe's coverage for that operator.

We are in early conversations with payment partners about widening that. The goal is more members able to pay by card, in more places, with the same instant role grant and the same recovery flows when a renewal fails. There is nothing to announce yet, no dates, and no change to how existing communities are paid. When there is something concrete, it will be on the changelog first.

Crypto stays on the roadmap as well. The checkout will show a pay with crypto option when it is ready, and it will follow the same principle as cards: the operator is paid directly, and Arcalotl stays out of the money.

Still in the queue

  • RootApp is next in line now that Telegram has shipped. The order can change if the waitlists say otherwise.
  • Minecraft follows Hytale and reuses the same plugin protocol, so most of the work is already done by the time Hytale ships.
  • Team and organization accounts for communities with more than one admin are in progress alongside the platform work.

How we decide the order

Three signals, weighed together. Requests in our Discord and Fluxer servers. The size of each platform's waitlist. And how much of the work carries over from what already exists, which is why Telegram and Minecraft rank higher than their audience alone would justify. The live version of this list is always on the roadmap.

Get in early

Discord, Fluxer, and Telegram communities can start today. Hytale operators can join the list for their platform and hear when it ships.
